About Us

Elizabeth Sanders Greyson

"Liz" is a writer, artist, and co-creator of Paper + Stone. She is the screenwriter of the Academy Award–nominated film CAUSEWAY (2022), starring Jennifer Lawrence and Brian Tyree Henry, and the author of the novel The Last Light (Chin Music Press, 2015). Her work is drawn to memory, landscape, grief, complicated women, and the histories held inside ordinary things.

Raised in New Orleans and based in Brooklyn, Sanders created Paper + Stone from a lifelong habit of gathering: books, photographs, objects, fragments, and stories that might otherwise disappear. She believes in the beauty of the found and the kept, and in the possibility that an object can carry a life far beyond its original owner.

Lukas Maverick Greyson

Lukas is a photojournalist, multidisciplinary artist and global healthcare advocate who captures humanity, survival and raw nature through imagery and ink.

His work spans three decades of international storytelling, documenting resilience and advocating for healthcare equity in remote regions of the world.

A nomadic soul at heart, he is based in Brooklyn, where he thrives on merging all that he loves with his wife, Liz: fine-art photography, abstract painting, cement sculpture, candle-making, rare books and pop art. Together, they created Paper + Stone as an expression of their shared creative vision.

He believes that art should make us push boundaries, challenge our perspectives and preserve the stories and people that might otherwise be forgotten.

Guest Collaborators:

Bas Sore

Bas Sore is an American artist working with cyanotype, found imagery, botanical material, and archival fragments. The work considers landscape as a form of memory, particularly places altered by disappearance, excavation, inheritance, and grief.

Sore works with the landscapes of the American South, making images that feel less discovered than remembered: traces of bodies, birds, ruins, maps, and things already vanishing.
