Bas Sore
In Morse code, CQ is a call sent into the open air: seek you. It is addressed to no one and everyone, a signal asking only whether someone, somewhere, is listening.
CQ considers the places we spend our lives seeking, the nowhere and everywhere of belonging, the ancient ground we imagine returning to, the home that may never have existed. Figures and fragments surface briefly through blue: botanical traces, an obscured body, an image within an image. They hover at the edge of recognition, like memory trying to make itself visible.
Here, grief is not something overcome but something that surfaces. For a moment, the lost spaces within us become visible before disappearing again, buried beneath the blue.
